Housing Selection Process OverviewAll currently enrolled full-time students are eligible to participate in housing selection. To select your room for next year you have to follow these steps:
- Complete the online housing selection checklist (available on Nethawk on Monday, March 28, 2016.).
- Pay your non-refundable $250 housing deposit.
- Get your selection number (sent to your Newbury College email on Friday, April 29, 2016.)
- Attend Housing Selection on Tuesday, May 3, 2016.
Housing Selection Process ChecklistNew this year, the housing selection checklist is online! On Monday, April 6 you will be able to log-in to Nethawk to see the “Housing Selection Checklist.” This online checklist will confirm what you have to do to be eligible to pay your non-refundable $250 housing deposit. You must pay your non-refundable deposit to participate in the housing selection process.
The following steps must be completed as indicated through the online checklist:
- Submit your immunization record
- File a FAFSA
- Be registered for a full-time course load or sign an agreement confirming you will register
- Have no outstanding housing holds
- Have no outstanding financial holds
- Have a cleared balance with Student Accounts
- Non-Refundable Housing Deposit
To participate in the housing selection process you must complete the Housing Selection Checklist and pay your non-refundable $250 deposit by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, April 27, 2016.
Selection NumberHousing Selection Numbers are generated using a random number generator. All students who have paid the non-refundable $250 deposit are eligible to participate in housing selection.
Students are grouped by credits (90 or more, 89-60, 59-30, 29 or less). Then a random number is assigned to each student in the group. This random number is the order in which students will participate in housing selection. Selection numbers will be sent to your Newbury College email address on Friday, April 29, 2016. This email will also identify all available rooms for housing selection.
RoommatesTalk to potential roommates regarding housing options. We recommend selecting a few housing options. All roommates must have submitted a non-refundable deposit and received a housing selection number. If you do not receive a housing selection number you will not be able to participate in housing selection.
Roommate FinderNeed a roommate? Use our Roommate Finder App for assistance. Submit your roommate questionnaire and the Residence Life staff will work towards helping you find a suitable roommate. Residence Life will share contact information with groups, but it is up to the students to connect and decide if they would like to live with each other.
We will also offer short meet and greets prior to selection to assist students without roommates. The meet and greets will take place on Thursday, April 19 at 5:00 PM in Weltman 2nd Floor Lounge and on Tuesday, May 3 prior to housing selection.
