Experiential Education & Career Services

Parents & Families

The Experiential Education & Career Services Center at Newbury College aims to promote your student’s career planning and development process. Our families can assist us in attaining our goals by encouraging their student to:

  • Attend information sessions, workshops and fairs;
  • Consider joining an athletic team, co-curricular activity or student club;
  • Create and build a resume and cover letters;
  • Investigate volunteer and internship opportunities;
  • Learn how to conduct research into fields of interest;
  • Make an appointment for career counseling and/or mock interviewing;
  • Seek out support in graduate school planning.
All of the above listed actions will assist your student in preparing to enter a competitive workforce. We understand that the parents and family members of our students themselves represent a diverse cross-section of the world of work. Those who are able can further support the mission of the Center by:
  • Lending their industry related expertise to career-relevant events (information sessions, career fairs, speaker panels, etc.);
  • Recommending their employer as a potential internship and/or job site;
  • Sharing questions with our staff.
