Welcome visitors!
The Lois and David Weltman Dining Room in the Mitton House
is both the showcase of the College and an interactive classroom
offering hands-on experience for the culinary and hospitality
students in our Roger
A. Saunders School of Hotel & Restaurant Management.
Culinary courses run throughout the semester in 13-day
increments, during which time students are engaged in an
educational setting for six hours per day. Students enrolled
in Classic Contemporary Kitchen, Dining Room, Classical
Dining Room, and International Kitchen courses operate the
Weltman Dining Room to serve the Newbury community and our
guests.
When these classes are running the Weltman Dining Room
is open for lunch and dinner service Monday through Thursday.
On selected weekends throughout the academic year, prix
fixe Saturday lunches are also offered. All culinary classes
come together several times each semester to present an
elaborate feast known as our Grand Buffet for students,
faculty/staff, visiting high school students, and guests.
This buffet often includes hors d'oeuvres, breads and rolls,
classical cuisine, special desserts and pastries, and a
display of elaborate ice carvings.
Our a la carte lunch menu serves food prepared by our International
Cuisine class. The dinner menu is based on contemporary
cuisine with classical French underpinnings. On selected
evenings, guests will be treated to the cuisine of Newbury
College culinary graduates through the Newbury College Alumni
Guest Chef Event Program.
As a guest of this "hidden jewel" at Newbury College, you
will enjoy the atmosphere and cuisine created by our students
in their real world classroom. We hope you will join us
this year for an intimate dining experience prepared by
our students for you. From the links on this page, you can
learn about the history of the Mitton House and the Weltman
Dining Room and you can check out the lunch and dinner menus.
We look forward to seeing you this semester,
