Fall 2009
HEALTH INSURANCE & IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS
HEALTH INSURANCE
Massachusetts Law requires all students who will be enrolling
at a college in Massachusetts to have adequate health and
accident insurance. This law applies to all students carrying
at least 75 percent of the full-time curriculum or 9 or
more credit hours. The College has developed a Student Accident
and Sickness Insurance Plan that meets the benefit level
required by the State. You may waive this insurance coverage
only if you have health insurance that is comparable to
this plan. For further information on minimum coverage
required by law or to determine if your health insurance
is comparable, please call 1-800-888-2250 or visit www.mass.gov/dhcfp
and click on 'Student Insurance'.
- All Newbury students registered for 9 credits or more will be billed
for health insurance and enrolled in the College's plan unless you complete
the Online Waiver Process.
- The charge for Newbury's student health insurance is
$930.00. This provides you with health insurance coverage
for the period August 25, 2009 to August 25, 2010. The
coverage is only basic, thus we encourage you to review
enclosed materials to decide if the plan suits your health
needs.
- If you would like to enroll in the health plan you do not need to do
anything as all students are automatically signed up!
