Scholarship Day Competition

Thank you for registering for Scholarship Day at Newbury College! While at Scholarship Day, you will have the opportunity to present your competition submissions to a panel of faculty members. Please review the competition guidelines below. If you have any questions regarding the competition, e-mail Tricia at tricia.ryan@newbury.edu or call 617.730.7088.

We look forward to seeing you on February 24th at 10am!

 Competition Guidelines:

  1. Review the question below based on the school that your Newbury College major is in. To see what school your major falls under, visit www.newbury.edu/majors. Undecided students may pick any of the three questions below as their group to compete with.
  2. Prepare a 3-5 page, double spaced typed response to the prompt. You should bring this written response with you to Scholarship Day and submit it during registration.
  3. Prepare a 5 minute presentation based on your answer to the prompt. You may use visuals to enhance your presentation as well. A computer and projector are also available should you decide to use PowerPoint. You will present your response to the prompt to a panel of faculty within the school that your Newbury College major will be in.
  4. Each school at Newbury College will select one first place winner ($5,000 one-time scholarship) and one second place winner ($2,000 one-time scholarship). Winners will be notified on March 1st. Scholarships are non-transferable and must be used for the 2012-2013 academic year at Newbury College. In order to receive the scholarship, the winners must be accepted as a new student to Newbury College for Fall 2012 and pay their enrollment deposit by May 1, 2012.

The School of Arts, Science, and Design –
