Alumni - Ways to Volunteer

Here are a few ways for you to get involved in the Newbury College Alumni community. This is a great way to stay connected to Newbury. We need your help to make these programs successful!

Newbury College's Alumni Association Committee

Become an active member of Newbury College's Alumni Association. Create, plan and supervise programs that provide alumni with social, service and networking events throughout the year. The Alumni Association Committee meets in September, November, January, March and May. For more information visit www.newbury.edu/alumni/association.shtml.

Alumni Career Services

Help Newbury students explore career opportunities. The career mentor program will pair a current student with an alumnus or alumna in a specific field. The amount of time given to the career mentor program is completely up to you. The mentorship can consist of phone calls, emails, in person meetings and job shadowing.

If you cannot commit to becoming a career mentor, but would like to come on campus and share your "real world" experiences, please contact the Office of Career Services. We are always looking for alumni to share their stories with students in classes and through workshops.

Are you looking to hire a Newbury student or graduate? Every spring, we host a career fair. If your company would like to be a part of this fair, please contact the Office of Career Services at 617-730-7072 or careers@newbury.edu.

Alumni Admission Volunteer Program

Alumni Admission Volunteers are alumni who play an active role in the admission effort. Alumni ambassadors provide prospective students and parents with a unique perspective on the Newbury experience. You can interact with interested students at the Office of Admission Open House and regional college fairs. We want to make sure everyone knows that Newbury College is a dynamic and viable option for students who seek a rewarding educational experience. You're a vital part of the success of this institution.

Internships

Many current Newbury students need to complete an internship to graduate. If your company or the company where you are employed is looking for an intern, please consider giving the opportunity to a current Newbury student. For more information on providing internships, please contact Sharon Roberts at 617-730-7057 or sroberts@newbury.edu.

Annual Fund Phone-A-Thon

Every fall and spring, alumni and current students call graduates and ask for their support of Newbury College. If you like to talk on the phone and are full of enthusiasm, please consider volunteering for the phone-a-thon. It's a great way to make other graduates aware of what is going on at Newbury and promote a great cause. You may also catch up with an old friend or two!

If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations at 617-730-7009 or alumni@newbury.edu.
