Admission Deadlines

Early Action – December 1
Students are notified by January 1 and should deposit by May 1
After January 1 – Rolling Admission
Applicants are notified within 2-3 weeks
Students should deposit by May 1
Required documents for admission include secondary school transcript (and college transcripts, if transferring), two letters of recommendation and an essay. SAT scores required if you wish to be considered for merit scholarships.

Scholarships

Students who have submitted SAT scores are automatically considered for merit based scholarships. These awards are based on academic performance, course selection, and co-curricular activities.
The four types of scholarships include:
Newburya one third tuition scholarship
Distinguisheda one half tuition scholarship
Presidentiala full tuition scholarship
Saunders Scholarship$2,500 per year

Financial Aid

In 2005-2006 Newbury administered $11.4 million in financial aid from all sources and commits approximately $5.9 million in grants and scholarships to students each year.
Students need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and include Newbury as a school of choice.

The FAFSA form is available in January – on paper in the high school guidance office, or on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
