Food Service and Restaurant Management
The Associate in Applied Science degree in Food Service
and Restaurant Management prepares students for management
careers in a wide variety of venues, including hotels, restaurants,
clubs, institutional cafeterias, corporate catering, theme
parks, cruise ships, and home catering.The program provides
a strong foundation in business management as it applies
to the food service industry, familiarizing students with
key concepts such as purchasing & storage management,
financial accounting, supervisory management, human resources
management, sales, and hospitality law. Internships allow
students to gain experience in a professional work environment.
Graduates may continue at Newbury College for a Bachelor
of Science degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Service Management,
with a concentration in Hotel Administration.
Note that all full-time day students are required to
take FY100 First Year Seminar during their first semester.
