Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology

The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology prepares students for careers in the mental health field, as well as for graduate study. The curriculum includes the theoretical underpinnings of psychology, the social science research methods used to study human thought, emotion, and behavior, and the practical application of psychology. Students will learn to analyze behavior, assess psychosocial developmental progress, identify treatment modalities, and use basic counseling skills. Internships allow students to apply their classroom learnng in a professional work environment. Graduates may go on to careers in venues such as behavioral oriented programs, child and adolescent residential treatment centers, hospice programs, psychological inpatient facilities, and adult treatment centers.

Note that all full-time day students are required to take FY100 First Year Seminar during their first semester.
